We are excited to share an important milestone for Young + Wright Architectural - the promotion of our newest Partners, Alyssa Catlin and Steve Shchurowsky. This moment represents not only individual achievement, but our continued commitment to thoughtful growth, strong leadership, and long-term success.  

Both Alyssa and Steve have earned the trust of colleagues, clients, and communities through their dedication, integrity, and impact. They bring deep experience, strategic insight, and a shared commitment to delivering meaningful results. Just as importantly, they exemplify the values that define our culture, collaboration, accountability, and a genuine investment in people. 

Our success has always been driven by our people. The promotion of Alyssa and Steve as partners, recognizes leaders who consistently elevate those around them and strengthen our firm through their actions and example. Meet Our Newest Partners

Alyssa Catlin, AIA, has spent more than 14 years growing alongside Young + Wright Architectural, beginning as an intern in 2012 and now, becoming an Partner in 2026. Her work is shaped by a mix of strategic thinking and hands on experience. She’s known for helping teams and clients cut through complexity with clarity and purpose. Alyssa has been instrumental in developing YWA’s FIT (Facility Inspection Technology) Program, guiding long-term facility planning, and supporting staff growth. She enjoys mentoring others and is passionate about building a collaborative, curious staff culture grounded in thoughtful design. With degrees in architecture and business from the University at Buffalo, Alyssa brings creativity, financial insight, and practical problem solving to her role. As a Partner, she focuses on strategic planning, marketing, and business development, with a particular interest in improving educational environments. 

Steve Shchurowsky, AIA, has spent more than 17 years growing alongside Young + Wright Architectural, joining the firm as an intern in 2009 and becoming a Partner in 2026. His work is shaped by creativity, optimism, practical problem‑solving, his can‑do attitude, and out‑of‑the‑box thinking. Steve has contributed strong design leadership across educational, commercial, municipal, and residential projects, bringing thoughtful design paired with detail‑driven execution. He values collaboration and believes the strongest solutions come from teams where every voice is heard. A Buffalo native and University at Buffalo graduate, Steve is passionate about mentoring others and supporting both the firm’s growth and the future of Western New York. As a Partner, he helps guide YWA’s strategic direction, design innovation, and continued commitment to client success.
