THE DETAILS

AWARD WINNING TRANSFORMATION: EDEN’S LIBRARY REIMAGINED FOR FUTURE LEARNING

Eden Central School District’s Middle/High School library had essentially remained untouched since its original design in 1969, which featured a traditional aesthetic with vaulted ceilings and wood paneling.

A major goal of the redesign was to modernize the library while preserving its timeless features. Some of the exiting updates included adding in a new circulation desk, creating built-in seating using some of the original book storage areas, and a collaborative work island with an interactive screen for student discussions.

The redesigned library has been a huge hit with students, who naturally migrated to the space and embraced its interactive features, making the library a vibrant hub for years to come.
