REVITALIZING ATHLETICS + HISTORY: A COMPREHENSIVE TRANSFORMATION
The Alden Central School District’s Capital Improvement Project was initiated to address deteriorating conditions in key athletic and maintenance facilities. There was a heavy focus on revitalizing these spaces. The District’s goal was to replace rather than renovate the aging track, field, and pool facilities.
The project resulted in a new state-of-the-art sports complex with an eight-lane track, upgraded venues for throwing and jumping, a regulation-size turf soccer field, and a modern grand entrance. A key highlight of this project was the brand-new aquatic center featuring an eight-lane pool with two diving boards, seating for up to 500 people, locker rooms, a stunning athletic entrance.
THE DETAILS
“To see it finally come to a place where there's water in the pool and we are getting ready to welcome our swimmers and our students back is incredibly exciting.”
— Adam Stoltman, Alden Central Schools Superintendent
