EMPOWERING THE FRUIT BELT COMMUNITY: A HISTORIC REVIVAL
The Roswell Park Community Outreach Center revitalizes a 150-year-old residence at 907 Michigan Avenue, blending historic charm with modern vision to create a vibrant hub for community engagement in the Fruit Belt Community.
This 1,300-sf space now includes a dynamic gallery, customized wallpaper celebrating Buffalo’s African American heritage, and a cutting-edge conference room, offering a welcoming environment for healthcare discussions and other gatherings. The new outdoor elements, including a tranquil garden, provide peaceful settings for connection and reflection for those in the community. The center’s mission is to improve health equity, offering services focused on cancer awareness, screenings, financial wellness, and community empowerment. This renovation and addition transformed the old residence into a patient intake and screening center, making it a cornerstone of health and unity in the neighborhood.
The center successfully merges heritage and modern needs, becoming a vital community asset and a beacon of hope for the Fruit Belt Community and Western New York.
